According to Sumit Thakur, Chief Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Western Railway, five wagons of the goods train, which was carrying iron coils to Panvel, derailed at the Palghar yard. This incident caused an immediate halt in traffic on the affected section of the Mumbai-Surat line, significantly impacting Mumbai-bound trains from Gujarat.
